🌱 Onboarding Observation | Becoming a Familiar Face

From: Office of Onboarding
To: All Staff
Subject: Week Two β€” Familiarity Assessment

The Office of Onboarding has completed its second week of observations.

Several developments have been recorded.

More introductions have taken place.

Previously unfamiliar names are beginning to belong to actual people.

Conversations are becoming easier.

There are now familiar faces in places that, only recently, were entirely unfamiliar.

The Office considers this encouraging progress.

Interestingly, none of these developments required a formal milestone or a completed training module.

They happened through ordinary interactions.

Someone offered help.

Someone made an introduction.

Someone took a few minutes to explain something.

A conversation began with work and occasionally wandered into everyday life.

Little by little, the unfamiliar became less unfamiliar.

The Office would like to remind all staff that settling into a new environment is not simply about learning systems, processes and responsibilities.

It is also about getting to know the people who make the place what it is.

Week Two status: Completed.
New connections: Increasing.
Names remembered: Improving.
Support received: Appreciated.
Sense of belonging: Progressing steadily.

No accelerated integration programme is required.

The Office recommends allowing familiarity to develop naturally.

Respectfully settling in,
Office of Onboarding
Department of Self Love

β€œSometimes belonging begins with recognising a few more faces in the room.”
