Subject: The Joy of Beginning Again
The Department has recently observed a change in atmosphere.
After a period of waiting, learning, preparing and wondering what might come next, something new is approaching.
There is excitement.
There is curiosity.
There is also a growing list of things we do not yet understand.
Interestingly, this has not reduced the excitement.
It has increased it.
New environments bring unfamiliar people, systems, routines and possibilities.
There will be questions.
There will be mistakes.
There will almost certainly be acronyms requiring investigation.
And that is part of the experience.
Beginning again does not mean everything we have learned before disappears.
We bring our experience with us.
Our judgement.
Our strengths.
Even the lessons from things that did not go quite as planned.
But we also make room to become beginners again.
To listen.
To discover.
To be surprised.
And perhaps to find joy in not knowing everything yet.
Current status: New chapter approaching.
Curiosity: Exceptionally high.
Readiness to learn: Confirmed.
Requirement to know everything: Not approved.
