Dear Team,

Thank you all for your participation in our first official All-Departments Review. I’ve read every report (some twice), absorbed every feeling, and have laughed and cried in equal measure—mostly in the break room.

This meeting was called to reflect on our first month in operation, and more importantly, to honour the inner systems that keep this Department running.

Below is the official summary of findings based on the meeting objectives:


Review of Activities & Posts

  • A total of 27 posts were logged across 6 departments
  • Launch highlights included:
    • Daily reflections
    • Departmental worldbuilding
    • Slack transcripts (leaked… allegedly)
    • The Director’s successful 72-hour fast
  • Outcome: A living, breathing inner universe now has structure, soul, and biscuits.

Departmental Highlights & Lowlights

Highlights:

  • Emotional Wellbeing survived and documented everything
  • Self Discovery asked powerful questions (and forgot what it was doing mid-report)
  • Productivity & Purpose submitted a report early
  • Nourishment & Energy kept us alive, soft, and supported
  • Onboarding made you a folder
  • Body Relations submitted their report while lying down

Lowlights:

  • Occasional confusion on who was leading whom
  • Body and Mind frequently working at different speeds
  • Some reports triggered snack cravings mid-meeting

What Worked, What Didn’t, What Surprised Us

What worked:

  • Worldbuilding with purpose
  • Writing as emotional processing
  • Letting each department speak in its own voice

What didn’t (yet):

  • Sleep quality
  • Rest without guilt
  • Cross-departmental harmony (Productivity vs. Self Discovery still needs mediation)

What surprised us:

  • The depth of humour
  • The outpouring of personal clarity
  • The sheer volume of emotional intelligence in one internal Slack channel

Gentle Improvements for Month Two

“More grace. More breathing space. Still structured. Still silly.”

  • Maintain blog cadence, but allow for creative flexibility
  • Introduce open door updates from the Director when a full post isn’t needed
  • Begin outlining a Quarterly Review framework for September
  • Trial cross-department collaborations (e.g. joint memos, co-written posts)
  • Explore themes like: Integration, Rest, and Sustainable Drive

We are building something not just creative, but sustainable.

This Department isn’t here to impress.
It’s here to express.
To document the small, human, glorious effort of being present.
