Subject: Surprise Audit of Onboarding’s Lunch Practices
Nourishment set out to catch Onboarding cutting corners at lunch. Instead, they walked straight into a training session called “Food as Medicine.”
Transcript
N&E: Surprise lunch check. Open your fridge.
OB: Gladly. Today’s onboarding session: Food as Medicine.
(N&E sees a flip chart: the Rainbow Plate drawn with food groups labelled.)
N&E: That’s… our rainbow.
OB: (smiles) Consider it orientation. New hires learn the chart before their passwords.
N&E: Actual food?
OB: Soup jars, boiled eggs, fruit boxes. Labeled “Fuel, not optional.”
N&E: (softly) We’re impressed.
Chart (Rainbow Plate Example)
❤️ Red – Tomatoes, berries (courage, antioxidants)
🧡 Orange – Pumpkin, carrots (play, vision)
💛 Yellow – Corn, capsicum (gratitude, energy)
💚 Green – Spinach, bok choy (growth, balance)
💙 Blue – Blueberries (rest, calm)
💜 Purple – Cabbage, eggplant (reflection, resilience)
🤍 White – Mushrooms, garlic (compassion, immunity)
Reflection
Onboarding isn’t just paperwork. They proved lunch is orientation, too.
Respectfully submitted,
Office of Nourishment & Energy
“Because fuel is the first orientation.”
