Subject: Emotional Wellbeing’s Lunch Habits, Observed in the Wild
Observation
At 12:15 p.m., Nourishment & Energy (N&E) entered Emotional Wellbeing’s (EW) quarters unannounced, citing “routine lunchtime surveillance.” Findings recorded below:
- Observed intake:
- 2 mugs of tea (half-drunk, still warm).
- 1 packet of assorted biscuits, opened.
- 1 chocolate wrapper (evidence of comfort).
- No structured meal in sight.
- Behaviours:
- Staff sighing into mugs before sipping.
- Biscuit nibbling paired with long, thoughtful pauses.
- One staffer muttered, “Lunch is a feeling.”
Field Notes (collected in real time)
- “Tea is hydration, not a food group.”
- “Biscuit ≠ balanced plate.”
- “Comfort observed, but stability missing.”
- “Feelings are valid, but protein is patient.”
Directive
N&E reminds Emotional Wellbeing:
- Comfort is policy, but comfort food requires companions (fruit, nuts, yoghurt, soup).
- Grazing may soothe, but meals steady.
- Hydration is noted and approved — just add fuel to the hug.
Reflection
Self-love is honouring feelings and feeding them. Comfort is care, but nourishment is what keeps the comfort standing tall.
Respectfully submitted,
Office of Nourishment & Energy
