Subject: Pilot Initiative – Departmental Me Day
Dear Director
We submit this proposal cautiously, knowing resistance levels may spike. The Office of Self Discovery strongly advocates for a solo outing during Me Day.
Proposal:
The Director is to take herself — and only herself — out. Café, bookstore, film, park bench. Companions optional, solitude mandatory.
Rationale:
True discovery rarely occurs in groups. Spending time alone will feel unusual, perhaps even uncomfortable. But discomfort is not danger — it’s data. It tells us where growth hides.
Perceived Benefits:
- Strengthened sense of independence.
- Increased ability to enjoy one’s own company without needing external validation.
- A fresh layer of confidence, transferable to other areas of life.
Implementation Examples (if approved):
- A matinee movie with no negotiation over which film to watch.
- Sitting in a café, savoring coffee and cake without glancing at the clock.
With gentle nudges,
Office of Self Discovery
