🗂️ Me Day Proposal: Documentation or It Didn’t Happen

Date: 20 August 2025
From: Office of Onboarding
To: Director of Self Love
Subject: Pilot Initiative – Departmental Me Day

Dear Director

We submit this proposal cautiously, knowing resistance levels may spike. The Office of Self Discovery strongly advocates for a solo outing during Me Day.

Proposal:
During Me Day, the Director is required to capture at least one artifact of her experience — a photo, a sentence, a doodle on a napkin. Without documentation, the event risks fading into legend rather than serving as a repeatable process.

Rationale:
What gets measured gets managed. What gets written down becomes culture. Future recruits to the Department of Self Love (aka future versions of yourself) will need evidence that Me Days are not a myth, but a precedent.

Perceived Benefits:

  • A usable template for recurring Me Days.
  • Institutional memory that outlasts momentary forgetfulness.
  • Increased compliance with the Department’s “Don’t Forget Joy” policy.

Implementation Examples (if approved):

  1. A quick Slack note: “Ate cake alone. Didn’t implode. Recommend.”
  2. A photo of coffee with the caption: “Minutes of Meeting with Myself.”

Respectfully (and with excessive paperwork),
Office of Onboarding
“If it isn’t documented, it didn’t happen.”
