Date: 17 August 2025
From: Director of Self Love
To: All Departments
Subject: Pilot Initiative – Departmental Me Day
Effective immediately, the Department of Self Love will trial a new initiative: Me Day.
Rationale: While output remains steady across offices, a recent audit shows signs of over-functioning, under-celebrating, and chocolate-related shortages. To ensure sustainable operations, each department will be allocated one (1) Me Day to execute at its discretion.
Objectives:
- Encourage departments to prioritise individual wellbeing.
- Surface creative approaches to rest and celebration.
- Establish whether “me time” contributes to long-term organisational resilience.
All offices are invited to propose their Me Day strategies. Selected extracts from the #me-day-pilot channel are attached below.

Body Relations: Can confirm, no pedicures yet (doctor's orders until the foot heals). But the grey hair — something must be done.
Nourishment & Energy: 🍫 If Me Day doesn’t include chocolate, I’m filing a grievance.
Emotional Wellbeing: Proposal: skip chores for 24 hours. Can you handle it, Director?
Productivity & Purpose: Still waiting for you to properly celebrate that graduation and GPA of 6.75. Current recognition levels: unacceptable.
Self Discovery: What about doing something solo? Café, film, park. It’ll feel weird, which means it’s worth it.
Onboarding: Reminder: please document everything. If it isn’t written down, it didn’t happen.
Next Steps:
- Proposals will be reviewed this week.
- Approved initiatives will be scheduled for implementation.
- Post-Me Day reports will be collected and analysed for ROI (Return on Indulgence).
End of memo.
Sincerely,
Director of Self Love
