💛 Weekend Operations: Birthday Edition

Date: 15 August 2025
From: Office of Emotional Wellbeing
To: Director of Self Love
Subject: Preparations for Friendship & Birthday Traditions

The Office of Emotional Wellbeing is pleased to report the launch of Operation: Birthday Sleepover, a cherished annual tradition pairing celebration with connection.

📅 Context:

  • The birthday honouree is the Director’s elder daughter, celebrating with a weekend sleepover for her best friend from school.
  • This annual tradition — hosting each other’s child on their birthday weekends — began even before the girls met, thanks to the long-standing friendship between their parents.
  • Sunny winter days are forecast, perfect for outdoor adventures with the birthday girl, her bestie, and the Director’s younger son, who’s also part of the trio’s friendship.

🛠 Preparations Underway:

  • House cleaning to event standards.
  • Double bed setup in the birthday girl’s room for maximum late-night chat capacity.
  • Birthday cake pickup and secure placement (logistics overseen by the Office of Nourishment & Energy).
  • Flexible outdoor itinerary to allow for memory-making and laughter for all three children.

🌱 Anticipated Outcomes:

  • Strengthened bonds between the birthday girl, her best friend, and her younger brother.
  • Creation of lasting memories they can carry into their teen years and beyond.
  • High parental joy in witnessing friendship grow, step by step, from day zero.

Self love sometimes shows up as love extended outward — creating moments for others that also nourish our own hearts.

When we invest in joy, laughter, and connection for the people we care about, we’re also quietly tending to our own emotional wellbeing. These small acts of care ripple both ways.

Sincerely,
Office of Emotional Wellbeing
