Subject: Welcome Back
As the Department reopens for 2026, I’ve spent time reconnecting with teams as they return. There have been brief exchanges about rest, family time, and the small moments that helped each office reset over the break. The Department returns grounded and present.
Many of us are returning with a mix of readiness and uncertainty, and that, too, is a legitimate place to begin.
This year, the emphasis is not speed, but rigour.
2026 Direction
Following early discussions with office leads, the Department will focus in 2026 on developing a clear and practical language for inner states — particularly as they arise alongside work, responsibility, and change.
When inner states are named accurately, decisions improve, energy stabilises, and self-trust strengthens. This work is foundational.
How We Will Proceed
The Department will work through one inner state per month, aligned to the natural rhythm of professional and personal integration. Documentation will be light and intentional. Consistency matters more than volume.
January Focus: Orientation
We begin with Orientation.
Each year includes a period of re-entry — learning the landscape before shaping it. Orientation is marked by observation and incomplete information. It is a necessary stage, not a delay in contribution.
The Department begins here.
Operations continue.
