Subject: Field Report — Chocolate Buffet Celebration
Report
Yesterday, the Department conducted a special field exercise: a family chocolate buffet to celebrate my youngest’s birthday.
He takes after me — we both love chocolate. We began at a chocolatier, choosing slabs, and fruits and nuts coated in dark chocolate. Already, spirits were high.
By 2:00 p.m., after a light, nutritious breakfast and much anticipation, we arrived at the buffet. The restaurant was spacious, calmer than expected, and waiting for us.
We started with savouries, but the desserts quickly became the star. Strawberries and melons under the flowing chocolate fountain. Bite-sized cakes, one filled with Nutella — I had two servings. We toasted with glasses of water, exchanged jokes, and laughed so much we left too full for dinner.
Reflection
I am thankful for chocolate, but even more for my family. It is a joy for both my husband and me to watch our children grow, to see their delight, and to share these moments together.
This was our first family chocolate buffet, and we took plenty of photos — including what we call our “natural shots.” The one being photographed never quite approves, but everyone else finds them amusing. These are the pictures we will laugh over later, the memories that linger sweetly.
Self-love is not only individual; it is also the bonds we treasure, the joy of celebrating side by side, and the gratitude of knowing these moments are ours to keep.
Warmly,
The Director
“Because gratitude tastes best when shared.”
