Director’s Circular: On the Matter of Me Day

Date: 22 August 2025
From: The Director of Self Love
To: All Staff, Department of Self Love
Subject: On the Matter of Me Day

Colleagues,

I’ve reviewed the six Me Day proposals with care:

  • The Office of Body Relations urged us to address confidence from the ground up (Hair Now, Toes Later).
  • The Office of Nourishment & Energy reminded us that joy, often in the form of chocolate, is indeed a strategic resource (Chocolate Is Non-Negotiable).
  • The Office of Emotional Wellbeing argued that the soul cannot thrive under endless routine, calling us to Skip the Chores, Save the Soul.
  • The Office of Productivity & Purpose made clear that achievements mean little unless they are marked and recognised: Celebrate or It Didn’t Happen.
  • The Office of Onboarding insisted that without record-keeping, progress slips into invisibility: Documentation or It Didn’t Happen.
  • The Office of Self Discovery reminded us that independent exploration is essential to growth: Solo Adventures Required.

And of course, I cannot ignore the additional water cooler intelligence: that behind closed doors, some of you are quietly admitting just how much you need this time, even while laughing about it.

Let me be clear: this is not indulgence. It is policy.
Self love is not something we do when the inbox is empty — it is the reason we can face the inbox at all. Without it, this organisation falters. With it, we thrive.

So as we close this week of proposals, I remind you: this department was founded for one reason — to protect and promote the wellbeing of its people. All of you.

Let’s continue to work with humor, yes, but also with heart.

In service of our mission,
The Director
“Ensuring that self love remains our most profitable investment.”
