Dear Director,

Thank you for this opportunity to reflect on Month One of operations. As the department responsible for early integration, new systems, and emotional hand-holding, we’re proud to report that things are… happening!

📝 Onboarding Activities:

  • Created 2 introductory blog posts outlining mission and early intentions
  • Defined emerging department structures and personalities
  • Facilitated early alignment with Emotional Wellbeing, Self Discovery, and Productivity & Purpose

We’ve also created the following shared resources:

  • “Welcome to the Department” Checklist (still in draft)
  • Glossary of Internal Jargon (ongoing project)
  • Where Is That Thing Again? – navigation guide for new emotional terrain

💡 Highlights:

  • Managed Day One confusion with grace and hydration
  • Implemented “no pressure, low shame” learning model
  • Supported the Director through several aha-but-also-overwhelming moments

🌀 Challenges:

  • Keeping up with the pace of creative excitement (Director, slow down please)
  • Difficulty enforcing boundaries between “preparation” and “performance”
  • Emotional fatigue from trying to know everything immediately

🌱 Recommendations:

  • Continue casual onboarding through storytelling and character development
  • Consider a recurring “New Here” series for internal readers and future visitors
  • Host a virtual welcome tea for any new departments that may emerge

We’re still learning, still adjusting, and still excited. We believe orientation is ongoing—and that’s a good thing.
