Subject: Month-End Report – Office of Self Discovery
Date: 5 August 2025
Classification: Level 1 – Existential
Dear Director,
Apologies for the delay. We were preparing this report when the following questions arose:
- “Who am I to write this?”
- “What even is a department?”
- “Is the Director… me?”
Despite these spirals, we are pleased to submit the following insights.
📚 General Status: Deeply Reflective
The department has logged 9 entries this month, often unplanned and always raw. We suspect at least 4 began as simple thoughts and ended as philosophical essays.
We have:
- Questioned our relationship to work, rest, identity, purpose, and self-worth
- Redefined “progress” as any moment where we paused long enough to notice ourselves
- Had several near-breakthroughs, some of which were later retracted after tea
🌟 Highlights:
- Introduced several new phrases into our internal vocabulary, including:
- “Onboarding myself daily”
- “Is this integration or am I just tired?”
- Rediscovered forgotten versions of self through writing
- Became curious about why we ask so many questions (we are still asking)
🌀 Challenges:
- Occasional friction with the Office of Productivity & Purpose, who asked us to “wrap it up”
- Tendency to go deep and then forget what we were originally doing
- Frequent formatting changes due to philosophical mood shifts
🧭 Looking Ahead:
- Would benefit from scheduled reflection windows (and unscheduled ones too)
- Considering launching a recurring feature: “Questions No One Asked Me”
- Interested in connecting more regularly with Emotional Wellbeing and Onboarding
Thank you for allowing this space to be as unknowable as it is essential. We may never finish the report, but we will always write it.
Respectfully,
Office of Self Discovery
“Still onboarding. Still discovering. Still a little confused—but beautifully so.”
