Status Update:
This morning began with a familiar companion: foot pain. After preparing a hearty breakfast for the team (family morale still high, coffee intake steady), I made my way to the park – not to walk laps, but to sit. Yes, sit. On a bench. Like a civilian.
Instead of chasing steps, I let the sun warm my skin, opened a book, hit play on my music, and simply stayed still. No multitasking. No productivity metrics. Just presence.
It felt… unusual. Stillness doesn’t come naturally to someone who’s spent decades juggling deadlines and sprinting through life at professional warp speed. But maybe slowing down – on purpose – is its own kind of progress.
I don’t have all the answers yet. But today, I logged Stillness as a valuable entry in the Self-Discovery ledger. And for that, I’m grateful.
Calmly yours,
Director of Self Love
